Xeot SMP uses LWC to protect supported blocks and their contents. Chests are normally protected when placed, so your items stay yours.

Normally, no. LWC protects supported containers so other players cannot access them unless you give them permission.
LWC is installed server-side. You do not need to install a client mod just to use the basic protection commands.
